Description
Montreal a Crusader castle located today along the Kings Highway in Shoubak, Jordan originally built in 1115. In ancient times this region was refered to as the Tranjordan or Edom and Moab. At times this was a location of great trade and taxation for revenue between Egypt and Syria/Arabia.
The observer can see this was a heavily fortified castle that is located on a high hill, making siege-works unavailable as a weapon of warefare. Therefore, to take the castle would have required determination and a drive for lordship with disregard for the amount of bloodshed involved.
